After working in computers and such I retired at 42 (Yes I am a Douglas Adams fan) to work on the formula for the universe. Its a giant musical instrument and we are just parts of the various vibration modes. Then I learned vipassana meditation and another world opened up.

There are a group of self appointed protectors of the new religion of science who go about in wikipedia deleting articles which they disagree with. One of these, Chris Hillman, defames famous dead people and defames living people and tells many lies which he never apologises for when they are pointed out in order to remove material that he does not understand. When I made a complaint about him, his actions, and wrong vote counts in wikipedia he dissapeared from there. Recently he appeared in BAUT astronomy forum pushing the same lies. When I called him a liar I was banned from BAUT forum. It seems that free speech is only allowed for liars in BAUT forum. I wrote a blog page about it.

The lady is rather angry which detracts a bit, but the facts seem to be true even though very surprising.

This is so funny, because it is totally undermining ad upsetting the reactionaries of the scientific establishment. And yet it is correct.

The graphs on this page show clearly that variations in temperatures on Earth are very closely related to variations in the length of the Sunspot cycle. If that is true, humans cannot be the cause of the Earth temperature changes unless we are also causing the variation in sunspot cycle length.
"SOLAR CYCLE LENGTH AND TEMPERATURES
Since the solar cycle length correlates inversely with the magnitude and the magnitude directly with temperatures, it is not surprising that solar cycle length has been shown to correlate very well with temperatures. In an important paper in 1991, Friis-Christensen et al., compared the average temperature in the northern hemisphere with the average solar activity defined through the interval between successive sunspot maxima. Their results are displayed in the figure below:

The Armagh Observatory in Ireland has one of the longest continuous record of temperatures and they repeated the analysis and again showed a lock-step relationship."

Just got a Microsoft update for Windows XP which wants me to agree to this...
"12. LIMITATION ON AND EXCLUSION OF REMEDIES AND DAMAGES. You can recover from Microsoft and its suppliers only direct damages up to U.S. $5.00. You cannot recover any other damages, including consequential, lost profits, special, indirect or incidental damages.
This limitation applies to
* anything related to the software, services, content (including code) on third party Internet sites, or third party programs; and
* claims for breach of contract, breach of warranty, guarantee or condition, strict liability, negligence, or other tort to the extent permitted by applicable law.
It also applies even if Microsoft knew or should have known about the possibility of the damages. The above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you because your country may not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, consequential or other damages."
Jump in the lake M$. You cannot impose new conditions on people when distributing updates because your software is full of bugs!
[later]: Haha! I declined M$s new terms and it went ahead and installed the updates anyway.
[later]: Well it said it was installing them and rebooted my computer and then asked me if I wanted to install the updates. What are those loonies up to?

It seems that one too many missiles was a "clerical error". Perhaps one was a fizzer and so it didn't look so good with 3 out of 4 taking off.

Before I heard the Buddha's words, when I asked people who believed in reincarnation "If I cannot remember a past life, in what sense was it me?" and never received a meaningful answer. The Buddha explains:
Owners of their kamma are the beings,
heirs of their kamma,
their kamma is the womb from which they are born,
their kamma is their friend, their refuge.
Whatever kamma they perform, good or bad,
thereof they will be the heirs.
-- Buddha (M.135)
